5.3.1 - Does your university as a body systematically measure/track women's application rate and acceptance or entry rate?

Yes. NSTU systematically tracks and reports the application and admission rates of female students to ensure gender equity in enrollment. In 2024, the university admitted 1,462 students, of which exactly 50% (731) were women. NSTU also adheres strictly to the government’s gender equity policy in faculty and staff recruitment, prioritizing qualified women candidates whenever applicable. These practices demonstrate the university’s strong commitment to gender balance, inclusiveness, and equal opportunities across all academic and administrative sectors.

5.6.7 - Does your university as a body have measurement/tracking of women's likelihood of graduating compared to men's, and schemes in place to close any gap?

Yes. NSTU systematically monitors student performance and graduation rates through departmental records and examination reports. Data indicate that female students consistently perform at par with or above their male counterparts, with a near 100% graduation rate in most departments. The university remains committed to maintaining gender equity in academic achievement and providing necessary academic and mentoring support to ensure equal success opportunities for all students.

5.6.9 - Does your university as a body have a paternity policy that supports women's participation by ensuring that non-gestational parents can participate in childcare duties?

NSTU maintains a supportive and family-friendly work environment that encourages shared parental responsibilities. While a dedicated paternity leave policy is not separately outlined, the university allows non-gestational parents to utilise existing leave options — including casual, sick, recreational, and earned leave — with flexibility to meet their childcare needs. This approach aligns with government regulations and actively supports women’s continued participation in professional and academic life.
